The 91st State FFA Convention will be held virtually in early August. Check our website at http://www.la-ffa.org/state-convention for updates.

  • Small Engines - July 29
  • Veterinary Science - July 30

Livestock Evaluation and Poultry Evaluation are TENTATIVELY scheduled for Saturday, August 29 in conjunction with State 4-H Livestock and Poultry Evaluation.

Agriscience Fair will take place virtually.
  • Registration and scientific reports are due July 1. These should be submitted electronically to Dr. Stair at kstair@lsu.edu no later than 11:55pm.
  • On July 8, interview times will be sent to advisors. Each student will be assigned a 20-minute interview slot as well as the link that that they will use to log in.
  • By July 13, posters should be sent electronically to Dr. Stair in PDF format. These can be created using PowerPoint or other technology but should still only be one page just as if they were printed posters. Presentations with multiple slides will not be accepted. These will be sent to the judges in advance along with the research papers.
  • Agriscience Fair will run on July 15 from 12:00pm – 3:00pm. Students will not need to present in front of their posters; instead, Dr. Stair will share her screen so that the poster and the students speaking will both be shown on the screen. Students will present their research, and judges will ask questions, just like when they present at State Convention. The Zoom room will be open from 10:00am – 11:00am prior to the competition if students or teachers would like to test their technology in advance.
  • Log books will not be required, and they will not be needed for students moving forward to national competition.
  • Winners will be announced at 5:00pm via Zoom.

Leadership Camp will be held virtually on July 13-15. Members from all Areas are invited to participate together. Registration will open on June 29.

2019-2020 ANNUAL REPORTS      
All ag teachers should complete and submit their 2019-2020 school year annual reports by September 1, 2020. National FFA has extended the deadline for states to allow you time to return to school and to compile your data. An instructional video regarding how to access and complete the report can be found on our website at http://www.la-ffa.org/LATA. See the video in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
